On Saturday 2nd June Lodge Scotia 178 held a race night in aid of Iona Telfer. Iona Telfer is a little 4-year-old girl with cystic fibrosis. Iona has spent a good part of her short life in Glasgow sick kids’ hospital. She constantly picks up infections spending 3 months fighting for her life in intensive care just at the start of the year. She is on 2ltrs of oxygen just to get her through each day.
Iona’s mum Lauren helps out in our bar when the lodge have meetings and functions and has done for the past 15 years. Her grandad is also member of the lodge. When the lodge heard the plight of this little girl they decided they needed to act to assist the family and they had the idea of the race night which in turn has raised the magnificent sum of £4500
A big thanks to all the brethren who contributed to this very worthy cause. The money will be used by the family to make improvements to their home and garden which will allow Iona to play outside and lessen the chances of her picking up infections
